Australia’s Property Sector Enticing Foreign Investors

The Australian property market is on a roll. The sector posted the highest mark since the Global Financial Crisis because the situation was conducive to investors. Questions remain as to how long the interest rates will remain at its low cycle but one factor that has often been overlooked has changed the entire residential landscape – foreign investments.

After changes to foreign home ownership have been introduced, more foreign investors have the Australian residential and commercial sector in its sights. Latest data from Colliers International show that Chinese investments have ballooned by 5000% from 2007 to 2013, with $871m in investments in the country.

Home developers have to keep in mind though, that there services should cater to all walks of life. Foreign and local investors, as well as First home buyers should be in the mix to encourage diversity and balance to the market.
