First Home Numbers Plummet
The latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows a significant drop in first home buyers, where new buyer commitments finishing at 12.3% for April as compared to the previous year at 14.3%.
Out of the 52,109 dwelling commitments, 83% comprises established dwelling purchases, 12% for new dwelling constructions and 5% for new dwelling purchases. Meanwhile, as first home buyer commitments decrease, investor commitments have reached $11 billion – a staggering 34.9% jump over the year.
